James, is responsible for the day-to-day operations for all of Magi’s real estate services. He has over 15 years experience in the Houston, Austin, and San Antonio commercial real estate markets in both leasing and management, and over 18 years of experience in construction, construction management, and space planning. During his career, James has managed over 2.5 million square feet and leased/renewed more than 500,000 square feet. Additionally, his responsibilities have included management of tenant finish out and renovations, ad valorem tax protests, space planning, market analysis, marketing, and new property acquisitions/due diligence. Throughout his career, James has been responsible for the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate totaling more than $180 million.
In 2007, James received the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation. CCIM is a global real estate network which offers its designation to only an elite corps of real estate experts. The curriculum covers ethics, negotiations, financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, and investment analysis for commercial real estate. The designation process ensures that CCIMs are proficient in practice as well as theory and requires the submission of a portfolio of qualifying transactions which demonstrate their depth of knowledge and learned CCIM skill sets.
In 2008, James received the CPM (Certified Property Manager) designation. CPMs are recognized experts in property management who are held accountable to a higher code of ethics. CPMs are trained to analyze a property’s physical and fiscal performance, implement policies and procedures to enhance short and long-term property values, and market vacancies, retain and improve tenant and Landlord relations.
